The Faraja Department of the Mental Health Foundation was proud to participate in SXM DOET 2026, organized by the Be The Change Foundation in collaboration with the Oranje Fonds.
This year's Faraja theme, chosen by our clients, is "Coming Out Stronger." This theme highlights the importance of social inclusion, community integration, resilience and recovery. It reflects the journey of our clients as they step forward with confidence, no longer defined by their illness, but empowered by their strength, growth and achievements.
As part of SXM DOET, our clients, staff and volunteers enjoyed an unforgettable day filled with learning, laughter and connection. We explored our beautiful island and enjoyed a tour by Dutch Tours Ent. N.V and a delicious lunch at Buccaneers Restaurant.
We explored, we learned , we laughed, we posed, we ate and most importantly, we experienced the true meaning of community in action.
A heartfelt thank you to the SXM DOET organizers and all community partners who continue to make this wonderful initiative possible each year in St. Maarten. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Nicole, our coach, for her guidance, encouragement and support throughout the journey.
Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for generously giving their time and energy, to Dutch Tours Ent. N.V for providing a memorable island experience and to Mr. Jasper and the team at Buccaneers Restaurant for their warm hospitality and excellent food and service.
Together, we continue to build a more inclusive community where everyone has the opportunity to participate, connect and thrive.
Thank you, SXM DOET. We will keep DOETING!
